Caregiver Grant: Yes (To assist participants with children we are pleased to offer Support for Conference Attendance Challenges (for Childcare and more.) This approach provides maximum flexibility to participants in the manner most meaningful to them.Support for Conference Attendance Challenges (Child or Elder Care or Unemployment): At least twenty awards of up to $500 will be granted to students, postdocs, early career scientists, or other ASMS members who require financial assistance in order to be able to attend an ASMS conference. )

ECR Promotion Events: Yes (1.Research awards promote the research of academic scientists within the first four years of joining the tenure track or research faculty of a North American University at the time the award is conferred. The awards, in the amount of $35,000 each, are fully supported by Bruker, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Waters Corporation. PRIMARILY UNDERGRADUATE INSTITUTION (PUI) RESEARCH AWARD award: This award promotes academic research in mass spectrometry by faculty members and their students at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs). The award of $20,000 is made to the recipient’s institution on behalf of the recipient’s research. 3. POSTDOCTORAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARDS: Up to five awards in the amount of $5,000 each are intended to promote the professional career development of postdoctoral fellows in the field of mass spectrometry.)

Travel Awards for ECRs: Yes up to 20 travel awards for US$1000 each (Student Awards: Graduate Student Travel Awards ($1,000), Undergraduate Student Travel Awards ($500), Undergraduate Poster Competition ($300), Student travel stipends for the annual conference ($300 for student workers and $200 for non-workers) are found here Annual Conference / Student Stipends. Graduate Student Travel Awards ($1,000), The ASMS Graduate Student Award recognizes graduate students whose academic achievements and current mass spectrometry research display a high level of excellence and distinction. Up to twenty awards for up to $1,000 each will be conferred annually. The Award is intended to support ASMS conference travel. Conference attendance is required. Only one applicant per research group may apply. Note: In selected cases, awards may be used for travel to attend a non-ASMS conference to present mass spectrometry research in a topic area not covered at the ASMS conference. See online application for details. The awards for the ASMS Conference will be presented at the conference. Each award includes $1,000, free conference registration, and a matted certificate. Eligibility to Apply: Applicant must be an ASMS student member who is in the 2nd year or more of a PhD degree program at the time of the conference and presenting author on an abstract submitted online for the ASMS annual conference (or non-ASMS conference, if applicable). An individual may receive no more than one ASMS travel award per calendar year, including travel awards for Asilomar Conference, Fall Workshop, and Sanibel Conference. Past Graduate Student Travel Award winners (this award) may not reapply in future years. Limited to one applicant per research group. Undergraduate Student Travel Awards ($500), The ASMS Undergraduate Student Travel Award recognizes up undergraduate students whose academic achievements and interest in mass spectrometry research display a high level of excellence and distinction. Up to ten awards of $500 each will be conferred annually. The Award is intended to support ASMS conference travel. Conference attendance is required. Only one applicant per research group may apply. The awards will be presented at the conference. Each award includes $500, free conference registration and a matted certificate. Applicants may also participate in the conference poster competition for undergraduate students. Eligibility to Apply: Applicant must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program or within one month of graduation at the time of the conference and presenting author on an abstract submitted online for the ASMS annual conference. An individual may receive no more than one ASMS travel award per calendar year. Past winners of this award are not eligible to reapply in future years. Limited to one applicant per research group. You will need the following to upload with online application. Only one student per research group may apply. Completed and signed Undergraduate Student Advisor and Description (PDF). For ASMS annual conference travel, a copy of the submitted abstract on which applicant is presenting author. You will also be asked to enter the six-digit code for your submitted abstract. Annual conference abstract submission must be completed before award application. Undergraduate Poster Awards ($300), To promote and recognize research using mass spectrometry among undergraduate students attending the ASMS annual conference a poster competition is organized annually during the opening reception of the conference. Poster award winners receive a certificate and a check for $300. To participate in the competition, undergraduate students must indicate their interest during the online abstract submission process by answering Yes an undergraduate is presenting author on this abstract (in Questions section of abstract submission.)
